Geo Challenge Tips

Seems like there are an awful lot of people interested in improving their Geo Challenge performance. I can understand why as I am still in the battle with my friend for bragging rights. It seems to take forever to improve your score, but somehow we always manage to find the time and inch each other out. I feel kind of silly being proud of my new high score above 25,000 when so many others seem to be able to get 30,000, 40,000 or more! The bottom line is that the game requires practice. Here are some sites with good examples and tips:

This article talks about illegal “bots” some people are using to generate ridiculous high scores. The bottom line is don’t do it! First of all, it’s shameful and second of all, if you get caught, you get banned!

This guy is able to get 53 countries and 49 flags correct in one round. Looks like he’s legit and amazing!

Geo Challenge – The Epic Struggle

I appear to have embroiled myself in an epic battle with my friend Paul to achieve Geo Challenge glory.   Last night was the ultimate in disgrace as he came over to my house, used my computer and promptly set a new high score on his first try.  If that wasn’t enough he went home and raised the bar even higher!  Not to be outdone, I focused my energy on the world flag challenge this morning and broke a major milestone by passing 20,000 points!  Hopefully this will hold him off for a time.

I believe what I need is a better score on the flag challenge.  To that end, I’ve compiled the following web sites where flags of the world can be found.  Happy travel gaming!

2 decent JPGS
Flags on 8 printable pages
If you really must have animated world flags then try this site

Geo Challenge on Facebook

I’m hooked on the game on Facebook called Geo Challenge.  I blame my friend Paul for getting me into it.  But it’s all about travel.  There are 4 rounds to the game.

  1. The first is identifying country flags.  I confess that I’m bad at that, but I sure know a lot more than I used to after having played so many times.
  2. The second is pick out out the name a country from a picture.  Not too tough.
  3. The third is finding cities on a world map.  It starts out pretty easy, but by the time you get to the end there are cities I’ve never heard of.  I’m a little embarrased since I’ve spent so much time staring at world maps.
  4. Finally they just added one where they show you a picture of a landmark and you have to place it on a map.  That is fun.

I’ve been playing a lot trying to beat Paul’s consistently increasing score.  I actually think he’s on now trying to beat my new score!  My current rank is Globetrotter with a score of 16,567.  Can you beat this?
