What’s there to read?

The primary purpose of this blog is to start a discussion about extended family travel with children. My family and I are in the planning phases of a one year trip around the world. On this site, I’m posting all of my collected research to keep a record of it and to hear you opinions. The world is a big place and we hope that you’ll help us explore it!

Before you’re ready to dig in, here’s a few questions that may be wondering:
Why?
Where?
What?

    Check out http://laoliangresort.com

It’s not your typical island or resort, there are no fancy buildings or swimming pools, just Mongolian style tents, called Yurts, right on the beach. This place is beautiful and a great way to see the astonishing beauty of Thailand without destroying it in your wake.

Phuket is a tourists dream, but an eco nightmare, as are many worldwide destinations. This small island is off the west coast of Krabi Province. I first found this place after the Tsunami in 2004, a bunch of us went out to the island to help put up some climbing routes, to draw the frequent “climbers” that come to Thailand. It’s a great place, you do need to reserve your spot, the prices are all inclusive and not as cheap as Tonsai or some other backpacking locations, but a reasonable Thai price… and remember prices are always negotiable.

Good Luck, great idea for a site, I’m sure we’ll be using your data in the future and I can’t wait for Part 2 of the trilogy….the “Travel Blog”, Followed by the “AFTERMATH!”
